Amal and George Clooney were in LA earlier this week, and now they’re in Berlin. George is opening the Berlin Film Festival with Hail Caesar, and Amal is expected to walk the Berlin premiere red carpet with him today. I’m including photos of George arriving at today’s photocall, George and Amal arriving in Berlin yesterday (those are the photos of Amal’s animal-print boots), and photos of George and Amal out to dinner last night the Grill Royal restaurant in Mitte.
In the airport-arrival photos, Amal is wearinga bag by Altuzarra, boots by leo, Current/Elliot ripped jeans and a vest by Tibi. But that ensemble pales in comparison to Amal’s date-night outfit. She’s literally wearing Hammer pants from the ‘80s. My God. I get that we’re supposed to be like “Oh, so quirky!” She’s like the poster child forWhen Quirky Makes A Wrong Turn. STOP, HAMMER TIME.
As for Clooney’s promotional duty for Hail Caesar… well, the film needs some kind of help. While the reviews were decent-to-good,Rotten Tomatoes’ audience score reflects the fact that the people who have seen it didn’t really like it. The film made $13 million in its opening week, which sort of qualifies it as Clooney’s “latest bomb.”
