The 10 Things You Must Do To Build Your List!

Some of the things that you can implement when using this powerful tool to grow your business are the following:

Personalize your emails

It goes without saying that first impressions matter, and this is triple important for emails. Quick question: What would you do if you subscribed to a company’s email newsletter only to find out that their emails are kind of boring? Simple fonts, no backgrounds, no signatures, and so on. What will happen is that you will ignore them, and eventually they’ll automatically end up in your spam folder. This is exactly what would happen to your emails if you don't pay special attention to your email’s presentation. Of course, you need to be careful and limit personalization to the subject line and the first line of the message, or your email may seem forced or fake. Also, don’t overshoot its design, just use something related to what you do as a business or professional.

Use blogging and Landing pages

Your mailing list will go as far as the means you use to market will take it. This means that you can’t just use a corner of your website to show a sign up form and call it a day. What you really want is to get traffic, and put your mailing list out there.
You can do that by having a blog dedicated to content outside your website, with carefully structured information that can be used to get traffic from wherever you can and then insert a landing page with a call to action to join your mailing list.

Make good use of Lead Magnets

Lead magnets are teasers or incentives that you offer in a call to action to motivate your prospects to join your mailing list. The trick behind a lead magnet is giving away something that can only be obtained by joining your mailing list.
For example, giving away a free eBook, tips, or pieces of content that is not going to be published on the website and is exclusive, can be wonderful lead magnets.
Even if your prospects only sign up for the promise of a one-time free piece of content, they will be on your mailing list. From then on, it's up to you to keep them engaged.
Use 100% effort when creating your emails’ content
If a personalization is the appetizer, then quality content is the full meal. You already sent emails, but what you really want is for your customer to read them and make use of its contents. Creating quality content for your emails guarantees that your customers will be waiting for the upcoming email. Build up anticipation by creating special content from time to time, hosting contests, sending gifts to random customers, anything to keep them on edge!

Allow guest posting

Guest posting is a great way to make your prospects and repeated customers perceive you as a reliable source of information. By allowing guest posting and announcing it on your newsletter, you can have people wanting to read something from a different perspective. It will also generate traffic by means of word of mouth. If somebody on your mailing list sees a guest post from somebody that knows someone is going to enjoy, they will forward that email to that person, so you’ll probably add someone to your mailing list!

Use paid list building services if you can afford them.

While it is true that you can use some free services to manage your mailing list, it is also true that their usefulness will get limited as your mailing list grows. Not only will you be limited to a low number of subscribers, but your options to refine your list will be limited, as well. That’s why we recommend using paid services to manage your mailing lists and to assist you in expanding it. In any case, you have to remember that the costs of email marketing are the lowest among marketing methods, and it also offers the biggest return of investment!

Give away stuff to your subscribers, so they reciprocate.

There’s a simple yet all too often overlooked rule for email marketing, and it is simply about not offering something for your customer to buy during their first week on your mailing list. Instead, give them something like a gift card, or a free eBook.
By giving them something that they don’t have to pay for, you are in fact building up loyalty. This way, you’re teaching customers that you trust them by giving them a gift, and at the same time you’ll be teaching them to trust you back.

Study your customers, so you can properly target them.

You can use multiple ways to study your customer base and prospects. You can do it by using metrics, by visiting the kind of websites they visit, or by the kind of products and services that they buy, but you have to do it. This will be helpful, because if you know your customers, you don’t have to offer them everything you sell. You only have to target them and give them what you know they want. Email each of your customer segments with what they’re looking for, and they'll stick with you.

Work on follow-up emails.

You need to have a follow up email ready to be sent once somebody signs up for your mailing list. It is as simple as sending out an email welcoming a new subscriber and taking them to a start page with instructions and information about what he or she can do now that they’re signed in!

Run periodic maintenance checks on your Mailing List.

You need to run a periodic maintenance check on your mailing list to know where your resources are going. It is just not worth it to have users getting your emails in their spam folders, or have dead addresses on your list. Make sure you do this clean up from time to time.

Stop buying email lists. Build up your own OPT-IN email assets.

It’s becoming pretty outdated to use email lists that have been squeezed until the last drop by many internet marketers out there. Most of them go for an easy way by buying these lists which eventually end up as another spam. I think it’s not the right and honest way to market your product. If you want credible and loyal customers you need to build up your own opt- in email lists. But what are opt–in email lists?
Well it is a list in which a visitor intentionally signs up to receive email regarding new updates about your brand. But how we can build up that list? Follow these tips to begin your quest to gain serious customers.
1. Start blogging:
It’s an excellent gateway to show that you’re legit and are honest with your business. Your content should be of the top notch quality and should be resourceful to attract readers that eventually force them to share your content with their friends and family. Also make sure that you incorporate social media sharing option so that your word could spread beyond the target audience.
2. Convert visitors into potential customers:
That’s the cream fellas. You can attract people on your blog and they probably might end up liking your product or business proposal. But the question is that out of all these visitors how many are willing to open their wallets for you? Free stuff and services always go a long way and in this competitive internet marketing era you got to act like Santa. You can start by giving out free educational content like free e-books, webinars etc or connect them with your sales team to offer free consultation/quote. But to access these gated assets make sure that your site’s visitors give up their email address.
3. Pay per click advertising in search engines:
It’s a great way to capture some percentage of people who are using search engines to look for answers. Just use correct marketing keywords and make sure that your ad eventually leads to a targeted landing page. This will help you gain more opt-in leads.
4. Social media:
I think it’s one of the best source out there. Advertise your merchandize on Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest. According to the recent statistics social network reaches around more than 80% of the total internet users. Therefore it’s a gold mine. Dig deep!!
These were my two cents fellas. I would love to know about your personal experience on this topic.

Make £100 + from your blog

Hola to you All...

I just wanted to chime in and add some value to this part of the forum. I was getting ready to post this on my facebook so I decided to drop it here first.

Whether you're a complete beginner or you're currently having success with this whole "internet marketing" thing, here's a pretty cool and simple way to make an extra $500 to $1000 per week.

The beginning of this might sound cliche but the twist will come, trust me.

Step 1) Find A Niche!
This is obvious right? Well a lot of people never even get past this step. If you're having trouble selecting a niche just always remember that health, wealth and relationship will be three of the most profitable. If you're passionate about something you could also start there just make sure it's PROFITABLE of course.
Ok picking a niche..simple stuff..moving on.

Step 2) Build Your Audience
Just to keep the motivation for those who might be on a tight budget, I won't talk about paid traffic although that's how you really scale. For now, just stick with "free traffic driving strategies". Build up your audience on different social media platforms or just choose one that interests you the most.
Give value centered around this particular niche you're going after.

Introduce yourself to EVERY SINGLE PERSON you get connected with on social media, no pitching..no links..just a simple friendly "hey how are you" type of message. I have a full-time virtual assistant that does this for me on my personal facebook now since that's the main platform I use and my engagement on every single post is SOLID.
Hopefully it's ok with the mods and if not just delete, but Here's A Screenshot of the type of engagement I get. For the advanced entrepreneurs you'll also notice how I put a link to my blog which then allows me to "cookie and retarget" those who click and engage
Anyways, Connect with 30 people per day, give value, be awesome and the more your fan base grows the better off you're going to be.
One of my mentors said that once you have 100 raving fans you'll never have to worry about money again and trust me this is TRUE.

Step 3) Create A Product
Most people HATE to hear this lol but yes if you really want to 10x things, at some point you want to create your own product. For now, you can just stick with affiliate products though, BUT just try to find something that you can make at least $100 per sale on to make this method I'm about to discuss more effective
A $97 price-point seems to be pretty sweet for this.

Step 4) Run Weekly Webinars
Ok so now that your niche is selected, your audience is being built and you have a solid relevant product to promote that will help solve needs in your industry, it's now time to bring in $500 to $1000 plus per week.
Pick one day out of the week to run a 30 minute to one hour webinar where you give away nothing but value and at the end of the webinar make a pitch to your offer. Just try to keep the webinar content relevant to the product you're going to sell so that you can stay congruent
Peep this.

Imagine if you were only getting 20 people onto your webinar per week and you close up to 30% of them on your $97 product. That's 6x97= $582 WEEKLY! and we're talking small here...

For those who doubt a 30% conversion rate...half that number and double your attendance rate which is pretty easy to do and we're still talking the same numbers!
Do you get where I'm going with this? Webinars have been proven to be the highest converting compared to traditional methods such as just sending people to a sales page.

Step 5)
Rinse and REPEAT!
For the excuse makers..
But Jeff, I'm not that good of a speaker!
I was once on a webinar where the guy stuttered for 90% of the entire presentation and still managed to make 6 figures in a night.
Most people don't care about your presentation skills, just deliver the goods!
But Jeff, I just don't have the money to invest into a webinar platform.

There are plenty of platforms out there that will allow you to get started for free..just work your butt off during the trials and paying the tab won't be a problem at all.
But Jeff, I just don't have the TIME
Those 4+ hours that you spend per week posting selfies, playing silly games and scrolling through your newsfeed wasting time on social media is time that could be spent making connections and ultimately MAKING MONEY!

But but but. Forget the excuses just do it!
Go out there and get em tiger.

How to Find Similar Websites with the Audience Overlap Tool

by Tom Treanor

Whether you’re a business owner, marketer, consultant, analyst, or even a salesperson, you have probably found yourself wanting to find similar sites that compete against a particular site.

Why would I want to find similar websites?

Why is this useful? As a business owner or marketer, it’s important to know which sites are competing with your company online. Which sites are attracting the same or similar visitors? Which sites are using similar keywords or marketing to your target customers? In addition, you may want to develop a list of websites similar to a target site for new guest posting or advertising opportunities.

As a consultant or analyst, it’s important to understand your client’s competitors. Who’s getting the most traffic and the most engagement? What are the competitors talking about online? In addition, you may want to build a list of industry sites to track and evaluate in more detail.

As a salesperson, what other companies are similar to a current customer or prospect? What’s an easy way to build a list of potential companies to target?

For these use cases, and many others, it’s handy to have a way to quickly build up an accurate list of similar websites—sites that get similar visitors and that feature similar content.

With that in mind, Alexa has built a tool that uses proprietary algorithms to uncover similar websites based on factors like visitors in common and overlap in keywords used by the sites. The tool is called the Audience Overlap Tool.

How do I use the Audience Overlap Tool?

We’ll go through a set of simple steps to use the Audience Overlap Tool to find a set of similar websites. Learn how the Audience Overlap tool can help you:

Identify and analyze online competitorsDevelop industry listsCreate lists of target sites, orBenchmark websites against others.

Step 1: Log in, take a trial, or use the free tool

Log into your Alexa account (Advanced orInsight Level) or start a free 7-day trial of either of these plans if you’re not a subscriber.

Step 2: Go to the Audience Overlap Tool

If you’re in your account or starting a trial, navigate to the Audience Overlap Tool in the

sidebar under the Competitive Research section of the Alexa Marketing Stack.

Step 3: Input a target site and run the analysis

Type your website in the search box if you’re looking to see who has a high overlap with your own site.

Or if you’re looking to evaluate a competitor’s site, a partner’s site, or a site you want to analyze or benchmark, input that target site in the search box.

In our example, we’ll use “socialmediatoday.com”. Once you click “Find Similar Websites”, it will generate a list of sites ordered from high “Audience Overlap” at the top, to low overlap towards the bottom.

Step 4: Select sites to evaluate further

Once you have a list, you can select up to 10 sites to compare against each other using other Alexa Tools.

The easiest way to start is to select the target site and the next 9 sites in order, which will have the highest overlap with the target site. Or, you can review the sites further before carefully selecting what to include in your list.

Clicking the filter above the list to “Show only similar sites with similar traffic levels” will narrow the list to those that are very close to your target site in terms of Alexa Rank—a measure of traffic and engagement. This will create a smaller, more focused list of sites that are closer to the target site in terms of size.

Step 5: Use other tools to analyze the sites further

Once you select up to 10 sites, you’ll see the list of sites on the right (in the yellow area) and options to analyze the sites using other tools. We’ll describe the options below.

Competitor Keyword Matrix:

This tool will allow you to compare the keywords that all of the sites are ranking for in the search engines. It’s a convenientkeyword discovery tactic to find terms your site should be focused on based on gaps with others in your industry.

Or, you can evaluate the types of content that sites in a particular industry are focused on or are having success with. Make sure to save your list of sites and to use the various filters that are available in this tool. This tool is available in ourAdvanced Plan only. See an image of the tool in action below.

Site Comparison:

This tool provides a way to benchmark sites against others in their industry in terms of traffic, engagement, and demographics. Saving your list allows you to come back and monitor how the various sites are doing over time. Below we show a small portion of the Site Comparison tool.

Step 6: Use the “Quick Start Guide”

If you need more help with the Audience Overlap Tool, make sure to access the Quick Start Guide that’s conveniently located at the top of the page.

What are the other use cases for the Audience Overlap Tool?

In addition to the cases described at the beginning of the post, how else would you use this tool to find similar sites? Let us know in the comments!

Why You Are Not on Google No 1 Search Rank

I have seen enough of the 'How do I rank?'; 'What tools do I need?' and 'My Site wont RANK!' posts to last me a life time. Every week someone asks how to rank and every month I find myself answers the same set of PMs and am seeing the same threads. I decided to make a short guide on how to rank, and how to learn SEO rather than asking the same pointless questions which have been answered a hundred times before.

DISCLAIMER:

I am not selling anything. I do consulting for sites in my down time but I do not plan to sell ANYTHING on BHW. The good graces here have taught me everything I know, that and TESTING. Do NOT PM me asking me to tell you why your site is not ranking. If you have a specific question I am always open to help, but helping is not doing everything for you. If you want more specific help and are willing to work I can take a look but will not lay out a complete system. You need to do the work your self. I am a single person who does SEO work and have no team, so please be nice.

Also, no fancy images or maps in any of my threads. I apologize, you need to actually read. I will not go over some of the steps in incredible depth. The reason is these sections have been done. The rest I will give you enough to rank.

Lastly, to those better than me at SEO, please refrain from bashing, just trying to give a little back.

Step One: KW Research

The biggest reason you are not 'Making Bank' is because you picked the wrong damn Key Word. KW means Key Word. That is the specific term you want to rank for.

The biggest misconception on BHW is KW Competition. So I will break down how I determine what is KW competition:

Super Easy: Top 10 Results have no On - Page Optimization for the KW and are not strong domains.
Easy: Top 10 have a couple On - Page Optimization for the KW but they are not authority sites.
Relatively Easy: Top ten are all Optimized for the KW but no authority sites.
Medium: Top 10 has full On - Page Optimization and a couple (Maximum) Authority Sites.
Hard: Top 10 has more than three Authority Sites Optimized or three sites with an excellent backlink profile.
Very Hard: Top Ten has Six or More Authority / Strong Backlink Profile Domains.

Some people will not agree with how I do this, and say I call things 'Hard' or 'Very Hard' when they are not. But in my experience, if the Top Ten has Six behemoth sites I can be darn sure the other four are SEO's like myself who put a LOT more into it. I assume this to not waste my time.

What this means for you?

You want to rank ACNE for a product you want to sell. Look in the top ten: (I did a Google Search on a TOR browser, hopefully my results are not skewed.)

- WebMD
- The Atlantic
- Salon
- Acne.org (Acne Forum/Community with Exact Match Domain)
- Elle (The Magazine)
- Themedicinenet.com (Knock - Off WebMD)
- Wikipedia
- Three American Institutes / Libraries

I would call this VERY HARD. Some of the sites are Optimized for the KW, others are exactly referencing the KW. Be realistic, what are your odds of knocking out all TEN of these sites? Mine? Not worth it. If I could rank ACNE for a few days I highly doubt these huge sites which are targeting the KW will not knock my site off the top ten.

BHW already has a guide for how to pick a niche. And a few guides on KW research. Do a little digging with the search function if you do not know how to pick a KW. The biggest issue with people not making money is KW research.

Most likely if you do not make money or can't rank, you are:

A. Picking KWs you will never rank (High Competition)
B. You are picking KWs with no search volume (Spending $100+ in the marketplace to rank a KW which has 100 searches TOTAL is stupid for most people).
C. Not a buyer KW (Acne may make more with Adsense, but 'how can I get rid of acne' will sell your product).
D. All of the above.

If you pick a KW with no commercial intent, low search volume and high competition, you will never make money with your site. Ever. KW research is the end all, and be all of SEO. Learn how to do KW research before anything.

Lumping together with KW Research is On - Page and site structure. This is basic stuff which has been covered on BHW before. You can rank with bad On - Page and site structure with enough links, but it makes the entire process harder. Do yourself and your wallet a favor and learn On - Page Optimization.

Re - Cap: Be smart and do KW research FIRST. Optimize your site well.

Step Two: Buffer / Pumper Sites

With every project I start and I want to rank, I build a few 2.0s right away with a single filler article and I let them age. It does depend on KW competition to some extent. For a super easy KW I will build 10 2.0s and let them start aging. For a higher competition I build at least 20.

A Web 2.0 is a blog. Blogger, Wordpress, Tumbler, ect. You want to build your 2.0s as Do - Follow links. You can get No - Follow in a far easier way and I prefer to work with as much efficacy as possible.

After a few weeks, I add an article with a link. The article on your 2.0s can be all the same exact article if you want to save money. Take your article, manually edit the copy for as many 2.0s as you have. Then put it through a spinner. Once it is spun, re - read it and edit out mistakes. Now you have as many unique articles as you need. Do not complicate things here. Make it unique manually, make sure it can be read and it will stick.

Depending on your KW selection depends what anchor you use for the 2.0. If you pick easy competition KWs, you will not need stronger links like SAPE / PBN / Guest Posts. Do not complicate things. If your KW is easy, the 2.0s should have mostly exact anchor match. The 2.0s adds authority to your site and will be your 'power' links. For higher competition, 2.0s will just be for authority.

These 2.0s will become pumper sites in a later step, but you should build them first and let them age.

Re - Cap: Depending on your KW competition, build 10 - 20+ 2.0s and let them age. Make them on Do - Follow platforms.

Step Three: Diversity and Velocity AKA Random Links

After I build my 2.0s I want a steady Velocity and I want diversity. For a normal site, you will have junk links. Let's be real here. I want to look natural and mimic natural growth. If on day 7 from launch I build 10 2.0s and for the next ten days have ZERO other links, then I have 10 2.0's a week later, it looks suspicious. I err on the side of caution and use my aging time for 2.0s to build some crap.

I prefer to fire GSA SER up for this part, but you can buy from the marketplace for diversity. This is not a GSA guide, but to keep it simple, I want to build these links:

- Social Bookmarks
- Social Network
- Article Submission
- Blog Comments

If you are using GSA, create different projects for each type of link and watch the program until it builds the amount you want. GSA can verify more links than you intend on making. I use strict filter of under 25 OBL and over a PR 3. PR does not mean much, but I do find I filter out bad sites this way.

For those who do not have GSA, or are completely new, this is what it all means:

I Build Social Bookmarks to each page I want to rank. The benefit of Social Bookmarks are the fact they are often No - Follow and help my pages get indexed. I want a couple Bookmarks to point to the page. This is about a low velocity and have a good ratio of No - Follow to Do - Follow links, and staying below the radar.

Social Network are basic Facebook / Reddit / Ect shares. Just posting my link on a social network platform. Again, normally No - Follow and mimics a real site sharing content. Take this opportunity to make real social pages for your site. It helps content get indexed quicker.

Article Submission is sharing a piece of your content on another site to place a link. These should be Do - Follow platforms and like every other link, just a couple.

Blog Comments are fantastic. If you do these manually they will stick. Make sure you have your anchor as a hyperlink or branded. Blog Comments can pass a good amount of link juice and mimic a natural site.

My diversity and velocity link building is all about making my backlink portfolio look natural. Junk appears in any real site, so I try to look natural with imitation. Every Anchor in this section is either Branded or a Hyperlink. Do not risk over optimization with junk links.

Re - Cap: Keep Velocity by building Blog Comments, Article Submission, Bookmarks, and Social Network Shares. Only a couple links a day to make your page look like it is naturally growing. Post only on good sites with TF / CF / PR, or what ever other metric you want to use.

Step Four: Make Your 2.0s into Pumpers

A Pumper Site (Or Buffer Site) is a Web 2.0 made to pass link juice. This is why your 2.0s should all be Do - Follow. To NOT get your 2.0 De - Indexed, start slow and ramp up velocity like your actual site.

This is not a tiered link guide. For Very Easy KWs, the aforementioned 2.0s will be enough to rank your KW. I still build links to all of my 2.0s out of habit, and I suggest you do as well.

You want to start with Contextual and Do - Follow links only. This means Article Submissions, other Web 2.0s, and Micro Blogs. Contextual will help you rank longer than Spam and stick aroud longer.

Over the next several weeks, build a few hundred Contextual Do - Follow links to each 2.0 and monitor your rankings. If your KWs are dancing or moving up, great. If not, build a third tier of any links you can get your hands on. If you are using GSA, everything but Web 2.0s, because the program is not good at building 2.0s and will waste a lot of resources for no real gain.

In total, I want around 500 Contextual links to each 2.0. This may sound like a lot, but I spread it out over 30 - 90 days. So a handful of links to each 2.0. After I build all of these Contextual links I also build Blog Comments with strict filters in GSA, or buy from the market place. You are looking for LOW OBL, high PR / TF comments which pass a good amount of link juice for the minimal effort you put into it.

Re - Cap: Build Contextual, Do - Follow links to your 2.0 until you rank.

Step Five: Manual Profile and 301 Shorteners

This may be a little BLACKHAT for some of you. Things like a URL Shortener can be playing with fire, but it works and they are cheap and easy to make.

For people with a tad higher competition, as in anything over an Easy KW, you need more link juice to rank. I do this by building a URL Shortener first, and sharing it on Social Media. This is something perfectly normal, many companies and businesses use this type of link for Social Sharing, so that is what I do.

I then build a handful of URL Shorteners to my Web 2.0s. Again, Do - Follow only. I then blast away with another tier two of links. All Contextual and Do - Follow. This should make your KW move and spike all the metrics on your Web 2.0 (PA, DA, TF, CF). This makes your normal 2.0 links far more powerful.

Next, build about 10 Profile Links which are Do - Follow. Profile links are links on sites like Amazon or Twitter that let you post a link in your profile, and are often Do - Follow. These links are NOT contextual and often do not get indexed, unless you force them. Use a hyperlink or branded term for the Profile links.

These Profile links I then spam with at least 1,000 links. I prefer Contextual and Do - Follow as well. This is because I may need to build another tier of links later on and want more power for my Profile link. This will force it to index.

If you run your profile through one of the metric sites, you will find your little link is now a high PA, DA, TF, CF, ect link. This type of link works amazingly well.

Re - Cap: Build two sets of URL Shorteners. One set to share your Money Site link, and another to spam which points to your 2.0. Finally, build Profile links to your Money Site and blast them with links.

Step Six: Public or Private Blog Network

Again, if you did your KW research well, you will not NEED PBN links. If you built the aforementioned 2.0's, Diversity and Velocity links, Profile links and URL Shorteners, your KW should be ranked. If you picked a medium competition or up KW, you may need more power.

Before you spend money on a PBN, I will suggest you build another set of Web 2.0s. Maybe your KW was harder competition than your thought. Maybe the competition increased since you started. Try free platforms before you invest more money.

I will always suggest going with your own PBN - A Private Blog Network. But being realistic, and know that I myself do not have a PBN large enough for everything, you can go public.

Some caveats are, you are NOT going to get a great link for $1. This is why I suggest this after EVERYTHING else. Plan on paying good money for good links.

These links must be exact match anchor. Do not waste power or money for a branded link.

You will find three different types of PBN being sold on BHW. They are:

A. Public Network where you can get 100 posts for $20.
B. Public Network with ranging prices.
C. Public Network with high metrics.

No matter what you buy, it is a public network you have no control over.

If you go with option A, you need to point them to a Web 2.0 Pumper site. If you go with option B, go ahead and risk it how you would like. Even if you pay $10 for a PBN link, it is still risky.

Option C are the special seller which offer links at limited availability, provide no reports (For your safety), all sites have high TF, and offer some security. Option B and C can look a lot alike. If your budget allows, go with the most powerful network which appears to be the most safe. You should only need about 10 PBN links to rank a Medium competition in addition to everything else. If you do not rank, your PBN is not good or the KW is higher competition.

Re - Cap: If you still can't rank, you picked something too hard. Use a handful of PBN links.

Step Seven: SAPE, Guest Post, and 301 Domain Redirect

If you need anything stronger than a PBN link, your KW is too difficult for your own good if you are a newbie. If your KW will not budge and is a high competition KW and you want to rank, you now have enough links in your backlink profile to sprinkle in a handful of SAPE links. If you are going with over a handful of links, you need a Web 2.0 to act as a buffer.

Real Guest Posts will help you rank. Treat it like a Web 2.0 and build links to it after it ages a bit. You will find more than one type of Guest Post. Most on BHW are not real Guest Posts but a glorified PBN or a Guest Post on a site where anyone can submit an article.

A 301 Domain Redirect is a sure fire way to rank. The domain does not even need to be related to help you rank. If you are working with a KW this difficult, I suggest limiting one 301 per URL and hosting account for Redirection. In addition, you want to ensure the domain has good metrics and is spam free. Naturally, you will build links to the 301.

If you noticed, I got MORE and MORE vague the further we went along my 'how to rank' guide. The reason is simple, if you can't rank with the aforementioned options, you need to test and learn how to do the rest. Plus, you picked a KW which is far too challenging for a newbie to take on.

Re - Cap: 301 Domain, SAPE, and Guest Post can put you over the top, but is not worth the expense or effort. With an EASY KW you will not need this.

In Conclusion....

1. Do KW Research and On - Page.
2. Build Some 2.0s.
3. Diversity and Velocity with Bookmarks and Blog Comments.
4. Build links to your 2.0s.
5. Build 301 Shorteners and Profile Links.
6. Public Blog Network.
7. SAPE / Guest Post / 301.

You can now rank and make money off of any KW.

This entire process should take from 30 days to 180 days. After each step take a step back, let your KW bounce a bit and see what you are dealing with. If it vanishes from SERPs it is about to make a comeback. If it knocks down a bit, it will comeback stronger. If it pops up a couple places or does not move, move to the next step.

You can condense all of this if you want, but I prefer a slower burn so I do not waste resources. If my KW will rank with step one only, why move onto step two? Food for thought.

The last note I will give newbies is the best advice you will ever get: Mimic those who are successful.

The most practical example is doing your homework and picking the BEST SEO service in the marketplace which actually gets results. Buy the service and find out what types of links they make. On your next project, build those same exact links.

For every seller but PBN or SAPE sellers, you can re - build their SEO package yourself or for a fraction of the cost and the seller already did the work for you and made a SEO blueprint.

If something was confusing in this short guide, it was intentional. Use the search function and find your answer. You will get more out of this if you find your answer and it will make a lot more sense. Always test, and never use the exact same process twice.

Google AdSense have thousands and thousands of satisfied customers and publishers. AdSense pays on time, every time.
One more reason for choosing Google AdSense is that we can earn huge amounts of money if we do our work in right way. There are many bloggers who are making a complete living from their blogs and Google AdSense.
Therefore, Google AdSense should be the number one choice among all the other available networks.
It’s paying rates are better than all of other networks so that’s the biggest reason it is so popular among bloggers.
But since everybody is running behind them, they have made the approval system very strict. You make little mistakes and get disapproved every time. Here are few reasons why Google will reject your AdSense application.
Here are the most common rejection reasons and Google AdSense requirements that you should keep in mind before we get into details.

1. Insufficient content / Unacceptable site content
Your website doesn’t have enough text on for Google specialists to review.
Google gives a lot of value and attention to the content of the blog before accepting it. If the content is poorly written and has grammatical mistakes Google will reject the blog right away.
Not only the content needs to be grammatically correct, it must be unique and has to provide value to the users and readers of the blog. So the number one reason is the poorly written content on your blog.

2. Page Type / Design of your blog
What will you do if you land a page with full bright yellow background with white text on it, having huge buttons all over the place?
Yes, you’ll never visit that website again .
Blogs which are poorly designed and are hard for the visitors to understand gets rejected by Google AdSense. You must have a good and neat design which comforts the eye and is beautiful in the look.

3. No Privacy Policy, About Us or Contact Us page
There are some pages which you must have before applying to Google AdSense if you want to get accepted.
These are about us, privacy policy and contact us pages. These pages give the impression that you are a professional and that you are working according to the Google policies. Keep in mind that having a privacy page is also one of the requirements for Google AdSense.

4. Site Does Not Comply With Google AdSense Policies
No rich, unique and meaningful content, no organic traffic, pages with little to no original content or bad user experience through clear navigation and organization.
Your website may be the one that drives traffic through illegal sources, sites with excessive keywords or poorly coded design are usually rejected.

So you need a complete guidance and list of things that you need to do before applying for Google AdSense.

1. Write High-Quality Content:
The #1 thing you need to do before applying for Google AdSenseis to write high-quality content. This is very important thing which you can’t ignore at any cost. I mean it!
Google loves the blog who are providing high-quality content and their visitors are enjoying
it. Keep in mind that your application will be reviewed by humans and you have to impress them to get approved by AdSense.
A high-quality content…
is unique and original
with proper headings and bullet lists
free from grammar and spelling mistakes
is long enough
useful and informative
Helpful resources:
What is Quality Content?
How to Produce High Quality Written Content

2. Create Privacy Page for Your Blog:
One of the common mistakes that most new bloggers. Even though there are people out there who say that having a privacy policy for a blog doesn’t make sense but they are wrong!
The first thing you will need to apply for Google AdSense and get approval is the privacy policy of your blog or website. If you don’t have it you cannot get approval simple is that.
Why is it important?
It’s requirement of AdSense and secondly, this privacy policy means you are not a scam and gives the sense of a serious business. Google will check the rest of the conditions only if you have this policy.
A privacy actually describes to your readers about what they will get on your blog , what they should do and what they should not. So obviously there is nothing bad in having a privacy policy. While it can affect somehow on your AdSense approval, you must give it a try.
You can write it yourself or find Privacy Policy Generators online (You don’t need a lawyer anyway).
Helpful guide:
Create a Simple Privacy Policy for Your Blog (Example Included)

3. Create About Page:
Like privacy policy, you must have an about page so that you can get approved. This also shows that there is a real person behind the blog.
An About page has a major role and importance even if you don’t want to apply for AdSense. But when it comes to AdSense, they are about zero chances of getting approved if you are not showing this page.
About page simply describe you and your blog . This will not only help you establish a relationship with readers but it will also make them trust you.

4. Setup A Contact Us Page:
It’s quite obvious that everyone has his/her own opinion.
What one of your readers likes may be bothering someone else. Then it is better to give them an opportunity to speak up to you and tell how they feel about your blog, what they want to be edited , what they liked or hated.
Create a contact page, if possible add your email that you are going to apply for Google AdSense. If possible do get some professional email address like ammar@allbloggingtips.com and your social profile links too.
By creating this you are telling Google that we care for our customers, visitors and we are ready to help them. They can contact us anytime.
It will also show the Google AdSense Team that is viewing your site that you actually care about your readers and not only the money and AdSense.
Check out my contact page to get some idea.
One important step: Google AdSense mention in their rejection email that your website should have a clear navigation menu to help your readers find your pages and access the content before you think about applying again for AdSense.
So, what you’ve to do is to work on your menu by adding all important categories and pages i.e about us, contact us and privacy policy to help your readers easily find the content that they are looking for. The more you care about improving your visitors experience the higher chances will be to get approved by AdSense.
Here’s an example to illustrate this point.

5. Verify Your Name and Email:
When you apply don’t forget to put your name and email address in some easily visible area like about and contact pages. It will confirm to Google AdSense team that it is the same person who applied for AdSense and not some spam, crappy bots.
This will speed up the verification process and within no time, you’ll be able to enjoy fully approved AdSense account.

6. Have Some Good Number Of Posts:
What should be the minimum number of posts before applying for Google AdSense? There is no confirmed answer.
Not even one.
Because I have seen very established blogs with 300+ posts and their owner telling me that Google AdSense is rejecting them while somewhere bloggers with few posts or even less than 10 are enjoying making money with AdSense.
Exactly, what I said that there is no actual answer. However, we can always predict things.
According to my experience, the best time to apply for AdSense account is when you have at least 20 good quality posts. Your blog posts length should be at least 600+ words with quality content.
Dillon got his AdSense account approved with just 3 posts, 115 views, and 2 comments. Isn’t that great?
I visited his blog and noticed these things that actually matters to get Adsense approved.
Simple and clean design
Easy to navigate blog
Unique niche
Detail content
No “unwanted” widgets

7. Make Sure You’re 18+
This is the mistake that new bloggers are making who are less than 18. They write incorrect age and get into trouble.
Use your correct date of birth and age while applying for Google AdSense account.
Because Google AdSense is not for people who are under 18. Some people realize this problem after being disproved a few times without any legitimate reason.
So I advise you to be accurate while typing your age.

8. Improve Your Blog Design:
As mentioned earlier, you blog design matters a lot. It should be professional and not like a messy photo gallery. A clean, professional and fast-loading design is appreciated by Google.
When you visit a website what’s the first thing you look for? It’s blog design.
You’ve to build a good first impression on your blog readers to engage them.
Your blog design is the biggest thing after content. This represents your expertise, experience, and professionalism. It should have following features:
Simple and professional
Easy to navigate
Proper menus
No useless items in sidebar or footer
Search engine friendly
Fast loading
So be careful because anything can kill your chances of getting approved by AdSense.
There are thousands of websites who provide free professional looking themes for your blog. All you need to do is to search for them.
If you’re on WordPress self-hosted blog then I recommend getting a premium theme from
MyThemeShop.
And if you are still using blogspot then there are many great websites where you can find free professional looking blogger templates for your blog.
Check out my post on the reasons to invest more money on your blog.

9. Check Your Content Type:
Be careful with what type of content you are publishing. Because it is something that truly matters.
Here are some common content types that are not accepted by AdSense.
Pornography/Adult materials
Pirated Content
Hacking or Cracking Tutorials
Illegal Drugs/Paraphernalia
Any Other Illegal Stuff
There are few languages that are supported by AdSense so make sure your blog language is in the list of these.
Google AdSense team mentioned in one of their forum posts that they stopped accepting niches that are already saturated i.e making money, marketing, website and SEO stuff. You can read more here.
If you already have written about these content that AdSense doesn’t support, you can either stop dreaming about AdSense or get rid of these content.

10. Use Top Level Domain:
Google has made changes to their policies. If you have a blog with blogspot and the domain is yourblog.blogspot.com then chances are you will get approved quickly.
But you will not be able to use that on any other domain like .com. You’ll have to submit the request to upgrade your AdSense account .
As for today, you must have your own unique domain that specifies your blog. If you don’t have one yet, stop dreaming about getting approved with sub domains and go buy a Top Level Domain. It will cost anywhere from $10-$15/year. You can buy the domain from Godaddy or Namecheap.
The best domain is the one with .com extension. Choose a short, unique and easy to remember domain that is related to your blog niche.
Another important thing about the domain is its age. Because for some of the Asian countries like India, AdSense has placed domain age restriction. They don’t accept any sites which are less than 6 months old.
There are many AdSense stories that I read on many forums that some people got approved for few weeks old blog and other got rejected for the blog that is even more than 6 months old. So age doesn’t really matter when you have a high-quality blog that’s focus more on helping your visitors.
If you’ve a website that is less than 6 months old then you can still consider applying for AdSense.
Shibam got accepted by Google AdSense with 28 posts and a 6 months old blog. He managed his blog from mobile only.

11. Remove Other Ad Networks:
If you have any other ads placed like Chitika, Infolinks, Clicksor or anything, it’s time to drop them off.
Make your blog free from ads.
Even Google AdSense allows you to use other ad networks along with them, it’s better to remove the ads before applying and don’t put them back until you get a reply from AdSense team which usually takes anywhere from few days to weeks.
So, before submitting your application for Google AdSense make sure to remove all the ads on your blog from any other network.

12. Check Your Traffic Sources:
Google hates the sites that are getting paid traffic and mostly penalizes them so there is not a damn chance of getting approved by AdSense for a site that is getting paid traffic. You can bring traffic from search engines or any other way you want but if you want to earn via Google AdSense the right way, paid traffic is not a solution.
Also, note, that Google does not accept site which gets traffic from illegal sources. So focus on getting traffic from legal sources like social media, search engines, and related blogs.
Further Reading:
7 Strategies I Use To Increase My Blog Traffic (I Bet You Can Too!)
How to Get Traffic to A New Blog?
Okay, so you had done trying everything you could to get approved by AdSense.

But, AdSense is still not getting approved.
Well, It’s not the end of the world! ;)
There are two things you can do:

#1: Don’t lose hope. Take your time to fix the issues on your blog that is mentioned by AdSense in rejection email and apply again. Remember, if you are disapproved, you can apply again and again until you finally get approved by Google AdSense. There’s no issue with that. Just use the same email account that you used for the first time.

#2: There are many other trusted and high paying ads network you can use and trust me they are not hard as Google AdSense is in terms of getting approval. One door of opportunity is closed so the other one will open.
You can use these ad networks to earn money without AdSense. They are easy to get approved.

1. Infolinks
Infolinks is the leader in in-text advertising which offers 70% revenue share even if you’re a newbie blogger. It is different from other advertising networks. It takes less space because it shows in text ads or pop up ads. You can use it with Adsense safely.
It is a pay per click. They offer advertising options like: insearch ads, intext ads, inframe ads, intag ads.
Alexa Rank: 2571
Min payout: $50
Payment method: PayPal, Wire Transfer, eCheck, Western Union, Payoneer
SIGNUP NOW (IT’S FREE AND QUICK!)

2. BidVertiser
BidVertiser is another top alternative to Google AdSense which pays you for valid clicks on ads placed on your website. It is great Adsense alternative if you didn’t get Adsense approval or got banned. Bidvertiser offers Banner ads, Text ads, Mobile Ads, Slider ads etc. You can also make money by promoting your customized toolbar.
Alexa Rank: 892
Min payout: $10 only
Payment Method: PayPal, Checks
SIGNUP FOR BIDVERTISER

3. Media.net
Media.net is probably the best alternative to AdSense as it’s powered by Yahoo Bing Network. I’ve tried Media.net few years ago and the average CPM was much better than any other AdSense alternatives. Media.net ads are quite similar to Google AdSense and it’s very easy to get approved if you’ve a quality blog.
Alexa Rank: 5132
Min payout: $100
Payment Method: PayPal, Bank wire
SIGNUP FOR MEDIA.NET

To sum up, getting an AdSense approved is not really hard if you have a quality website that is focused more on high-quality content, optimized for search engines, uses a great design and with the good number of visitors. Because that’s what Google wants from its every publisher.

Make sure to do these things before applying for Google AdSense. I guess these are not too hard. Don’t be sad if Google AdSense doesn’t approve your blog. There are many other ways to make money online without AdSense .
Hope for the best.

One more thing, don’t reply too much on AdSense. Try to make money through your blog from other business models . Ads network will not give you much as other income methods like affiliate marketing and selling your own product.

Now here’s what I want YOU to do.
Click on social sharing buttons below and share this post with your friends, I’m sure they’ll love it!

Comment below and let me know your story about getting AdSense approved. Steps to Use Google Trends for SEO

How to Use Google Trends for SEO

Google Trends is one of the best and most versatile tools available for SEO. It is the marketing equivalent of the Leatherman or Swiss Army knife. If you could only use one SEO tool to develop an Internet marketing campaign, this product would be a serious contender.

Working with Google Trends

When performing a search on Google Trends, you have the option to set four variables or parameters (default shown in bold):

Web Search – Image search – News Search – Product Search – YouTube SearchWorldwide – Option to choose a specific Country2004-Present – Past 7 Days – 30 Days – 90 Days – 12 Months- Choose a YearAll Categories – Arts & Entertainment – Autos & Vehicles – Beauty & fitness – Books & literature – Business & industrial – Computers & electronics – Finance – Food & drink – Games

You can compare up to five search terms or groupings at one time, with up to 25 search terms in each grouping.

For example:

pen + pencil + paper (grouping 1)stapler + tape + notebook + ruler (grouping 2)eraser + paper clip (grouping 3)

By using the + sign between your search terms you are telling Google that you want to include searches for pen or pencil orpaper.

Google also displays Hot Searches and Top Charts in Google Trends, listing the top searches of the day as well as popular searches by category.

Having all of this data available is great, but knowing what to do with it is even better. Following is a guide on how to use this information for SEO.

Keyword Research

Since Google Trends doesn’t give actual search numbers, it works best when used in combination with the Keyword Planner. Google Trends will show a “normalized” or relative level of interest over time for a prospective keyword phrase. It also allows you to compare the level of interest among potential target phrases.

Let’s say you’re selling car parts. When does interest in car parts peak? What potentially drives more traffic; the search phrase “car parts” or “auto parts”?

In this example, I set the parameters for the U.S. from 2004 – present. We can see that Americans are most interested in “car parts” at the onset of summer. It is also clear they search for “auto parts” 4X as often as “car parts”. There is a general upward trend in searches for auto parts, albeit a mixed bag over the last 12 months. Good to know when optimizing a campaign.

How about ecommerce potential? Use product search as a parameter to find out:

Product Searches have more than doubled since fall 2010. Clearly, the interest is there, but you should do a competitive analysis, before jumping into any space.

Geo-Targeting

Google Trends breaks down the search data by region. As you can see below, there is some level of interest in auto parts across the entire U.S., with the greatest level coming from Georgia and Florida.

Drill down further and you will see that Atlanta is a particularly strong market:

If you’re doing local SEO or geo-targeted PPC, this data is invaluable.

News Jacking

Newsjacking suddenly, is all the rage in SEO. According to David Meerman Scott, it’s “the process by which you inject ideas or angles into breaking news, in real-time, in order to generate media coverage for yourself or your business.”

If Hot Searches didn’t exist, someone would create it for newsjacking. The newsjacking formula is a simple one:

Choose a trending topic.Blog about it.Tweet it (using the established hashtag).Don’t be a moron (e.g., don’t try to capitalize on tragedy).

Here’s a great example of newsjacking in Bongo Bongo land.

Content Creation

Top Charts is the perfect resource for developing content ideas that people are actually interested in. Sticking with the car parts theme, navigate to Car Companies, click on “BMW”, then click on “explore” in the right column.

Looks like a blog post about the BMW i3 and / or the BMW electric car would garnish some interest. If the term “Breakout” appears under Rating, the searches for that phrase have jumped by +5,000 percent.

Link Building

Links are still a primary driver of rankings. By creating content that people are looking for and want to read, you will attract links. Links are a measure of success when reviewing the outcome of your content marketing efforts.

Video Content

Poop. That’s right; poop is the top result when I do a Google Trends search for “YouTube” with the search parameter set to YouTube:

I sure wasn’t expecting to find an explosion of YouTube Poop(+250 percent since ’08) and that’s precisely the point of using this tool for video content research. Congratulations to California, with a search volume index of 100 on this one.

To play this game at home:

Navigate to Google Trends.Enter your keywords.Change “Web Search” to “YouTube” search.BrainstormIs there an idea that you can use for your niche? Is there a trend that you can capitalize on?

This data may also be used for video optimization:

Creating great titles.Using the right tags.Optimizing descriptions.

Brand Monitoring

This one only works for “big Brands” with sufficient search volume. In the case cited below, three of four competitors are static, but one company is clearly in the zone. AutoZone.

Takeaway

Google has a voracious appetite for fresh topical content. Google Trends is the single best tool available to develop content ideas that will garner traffic and links. If you haven’t been using this tool for SEO purposes, you should check it out now.

9 Ways to Encourage People to Comment on your Blog

If you can get comments on your blog, you’ll increase both your SEO benefits and your status as an industry leader. Each new comment adds more valuable content on that post, so yes, you can start ranking for different variations of keywords that are naturally mentioned in your comments. Also, the more comments you have, the more clout you appear to have, because people are interested enough in what you have to say to bother commenting.

So the question is: how do you get people to bother to comment? Here are 9 ways to encourage people to comment on your blog:

1. Close Each Blog Post with a Question
At the end of every one of my blog posts, I ask a question. It takes about 5 seconds to formulate a question, even something as simple as “What do you think about X?” or “Do you agree? Share your thoughts in the comments below!” Asking for feedback from your readers will show them that you care about their opinions. Even though blog commenting is more anonymous than if that reader was asking you a question in person or from a conference audience, people can still be fairly shy online. But asking them for their opinions may help them feel more comfortable leaving a comment. Also, bold your question so that it stands out at the end of your post.

2. Ask Readers to Add to Your Numbered List
Many of the most enticing blog articles are numbered lists. Numbered lists make a blog post easy to read, and people know when they click on a post like “ 9 Worst Ways to do Twitter for Business
,” they’re going to come away with at least 9 clear takeaways from that blog post. The best way to get comments from people on these types of articles is to ask them to add to the list. In the case of my 9 Worst Ways article, I asked my readers to contribute #10,... Not too shabby!

3. Write Something Insightful and Thought-Provoking

Try to write a blog post that gets people to think, or pushes them in a new direction. This is what a truly remarkable blog post will do. This type of post will definitely push the limit of a typical 200-400 word blog post, but every once in a while, take a bit of extra time to come up with a concept, theory, or idea that makes your readers think. THIS is the type of blog post that will make you an industry leader. This is also the type of post that gets people to comment.

4. Be Controversial
Some of the HubSpot blog articles with the most comments include “ 7 Signs You Should Run Screaming From An SEO Consultant ” and “ Why a Social Media Policy is Stupid .” The titles alone are controversial, and can elicit an immediate reaction. Either you go “Haha yes! That’s so true!” or you go “WHAT? I’m an SEO consultant!!!” or “I have a social media policy!!!” This type of reaction usually triggers the need to respond with either wholehearted agreement, or fervent disagreement. Either way, you’re bound to get more comments, and since this type of article usually has more viral potential and social media, you’ll probably get many more page views out of it as well. And yes, being controversial is a delicate balancing act, but you can certainly be controversial without threatening your brand image.

5. Reply to Your Comments to Keep the Conversation Going
If you ignore all your comments, you’ll let the conversation dwindle off, so reply to your audience to keep the conversation going. If readers see that you care enough to reply to comments people leave on your posts, they’ll be more encouraged to leave a comment as well. Just like you don’t want to blog out to an empty void, people don’t want to comment to an empty void either. Answer any questions you receive, and thank people for commenting. If you’re getting too many comments to reply to individually, wait a day or two and then comment thanking all of your readers for their insightful comments.

6. Make it as Easy as Possible to Comment
Make sure that your comment box is located directly below your blog post/social sharing icons/call-to-action, rather than placing it below the comments so that the user would have to scroll way down to find it. Also, remove any barriers to commenting, such as requiring people to log in. The fields for name, email, and comment are all you really need.

7. Comment on Other Blogs
Make insightful comments on other relevant or industry blogs. Don’t just comment with a simple “Thanks for this great article!” Actually add value to the conversation. This way, the blog author may visit your site to return the favor. This should also help you get more traffic, and possibly even more inbound links, to your blog.

8. Create Blog Posts Around Top Comments
If someone leaves a spectacular and insightful comment around that blog post, use that comment as inspiration for your next blog post. Open with a snippet from that comment, with a link to that reader’s website, and then follow with your opinion. Then reach out to that reader via email to let them know that their comment inspired you! This offers you the opportunity to provide your top commenters with recognition, so that they keep coming back to participate.

9. Ask for Feedback on Social Media Channels
Instead of just tweeting and Facebook sharing your article with the typical format of “Title – Link, ” ask for feedback. “Title – Link – Would love your thoughts, please comment” is a type of tweet or update that once again shows that you care about what your audience thinks, rather than just promoting your own point of view.

What would you add as the #10 way to encourage blog comments? Let me know in the comments below!

If you can get comments on your blog, you’ll increase both your SEO benefits and your status as an industry leader. Each new comment adds m...
